Showtime in the Sunni Triangle

Are you guys keeping up with events in Fallujah Iraq? It looks like the Marines have finally lost patience and are going in to blow the bad guys out of that dusty little shithole, house by house if necessary. My only thought is, what took them so long? If the ceasefire was only to allow the good guys time to reposition and reequip, that would be okay. If however, we were legitimately trying to negotiate a truce with the kind of savages who would kill and mutilate civilains like those people did last month, then someone over there needs their head examined. People like that can't be reasoned with. They can only be engaged, fought and killed. I am very much of the school of thought of Col. Hal Moore (played by Mel Gibson in "We Were Soldiers") who, on the eve of being deployed to Vietnam, prayed about the enemy:

Dear Lord, we ask that you hear not their heathen prayers and help us to blow those little bastards straight to hell. Amen.

Now that was a man who knew his job!
