Austin News

Hello everyone!

I sure hope your Thanksgiving was fun and filling- ours was great. We got to enjoy our first Thanksgiving in our home, and it really was special. Starting the day with Mark and Natalie and Miss Lilian made it even more so, thanks for coming by!

I tried some new recipes that I can bust out on all of you next time, too! James when you're ready to Brine a turkey, let me know! I'll never not brine again! Yeah so staying at home and cooking and playing with the girls, and taking time to just slow down was rare and wonderful.

So Mikey's getting hitched, huh? I haven't recieved the official memo yet, but I'll assume that's what's happening from the note of congratulations to him from James. And Barbara Metzger called on Sunday and said 'did you hear about Mikey?" I guess she has friends who are friends with Molly's family.

Well I'm super happy for you, Mikey! I absolutely love Molly! She's so sweet and beautiful, and she just seems like such a good match for you. I know you'll be very happy together.

Had a different week last week. Y'all know Susan hasn't been well. She'd gone off to Keystone to ski, managed to get one day of skiing in, then fell ill overnight. Found rookies at a clinic in Keystone who decided to ambulance her to Denver. Did an ultrasound and opted to rip out the gall bladder on the basis of the ultrasound (never mind she lacked one of the biggest indicators to this type of ailment- PAIN). Did the surgery on Friday and flew to Austin on Sunday. Monday she was not well- still had the primary symptom she'd had back in CO before the surgery- uncontrolled puking, plus more by then- high blood pressure, high blood sugar, fever, feeling BAD. She called me on Tuesday morning to take her to the ER. I did so, and now it's been almost a week. She'll get out of the hospital tomorrow, I bet.

She's doing much better now. I'm happy for that. It was really pretty scary for a while there. I may never visit another person in the ICU- that shit is freaky. I was messed up for days after going there. But anyway- it's good that she's better and will be out sassing everyone again soon- it's better than the alternative.

On a much lighter note- we put up our Christmas tree over the weekend, and we'll soon be celebrating our first Christmas in our house. All these firsts- how great!

That's about it from Austin, for now anyway. I enjoyed the Thanksgiving photos, James. Thanks!

Peace, out.
