Thoughts on what's going on in the world today:

Have you guys really become aware of the fact that the enemy with which we are at war, the Islamo-fascist, doesn't just want our military or our government dead, but they want US dead? That's you and me (and Lillian and your kids too). James, I know you are.

Sometimes, in my benign safe suburban upper-middle class existence, I feel like the object of these words by the group Filter:

"You get yourself a nice cold beer, and drink yourself away. You're celebrating nothing, and you feel A-OK..."

I don't know about you guys but I need to get more plugged in. If the crap I hear has any truth to it then the efforts by our military and government are being weakened by soft, politically correct liberalism. It scares me to think that we could get so distracted ith our own "civil rights" debates with ourselves that we can't notice that the enemy is mobilizing with dry runs, etc.. Scary stuff man...

This is entering into my prayer life because despite it all, God is still in control. That's not an excuse to plunk my head back in to the sand. Rather, if we take our burdens to him (that is the things that are heavy on the heart) than what comes back to us is often purified. What can we do? I don't have a clue. I do know enough to understand that God chooses to accomplish his will through his people. Someone once said "People are His Plan A, there is no Plan B". Quite a stirring thought...
