I've been really busy lately so I haven't posted much. Here are some pictures I took today of Lillian. This was the second time we had her in pigtails. If you click on the picture, it should take you to my flikr account, where I have other pics posted (kind of like yours Jimbo, except this site is Mac/Blogger friendly). Nice pictures of the Fam in Jax by the way.

Mike, the game starts this Sunday night at 8:30pm. You are going to be one tired mofo on monday!

Also, I'm trying to get rid of some Byron Nelson Tickets for Saturday that I got from work. Nat is out of town and I have baby duty. Oh this wretched existence!

Mothers day

Hey guys. Great seeing you all this past weekend. Mark, we mssed you and your crew. Man, I am totally beat after all the traveling but wanted to post a few pictures before I get out of here. I'm working on uploading all my photos to a web service and when I do, I'll just post the link rather that putting them all here one by one, a process that is time consuming. Anyway, without further ado, I present to you this preview of my "Mothers Day 2005" folder:

More later. Peace out, Coopbros!

The "ash dive" and other Mother's Day thoughts

I'm in, fellas. I haven't jumped out of an airplane in over 20 years but I like the idea of skydiving on dad's birthday--which also happens to be Father's Day this year--and spreading his ashes in the sky. I think he would approve. I just hope I'm not too heavy to do it.

I also just upped my spinning to 3 times a week. I did it this morning, making this the first time I've done it for 2 consecutive days. I'm enjoying a really cool endorphin buzz right now as I sip my morning coffee, too. I'll be snoring later on the plane ride back to Texas, of course, but right now I feel great.

I'll be getting off my plane in Houston tonight, renting a car and staying at Mom's house. Erica will come down on Saturday and we'll spend some time with her family. On Sunday, I'll be there to see y'all (except Mark) at that brunch thing for Mom in Kemah. On Monday, I have to go to College Station and have a serious talk with my boss and let him know that if the company's serious about moving me to Florida then it's looking like they're going to have to buy my house from me. I am going to fly Erica to Jax next weekend, when we plan to find a house we like and put in an offer. I need to get Courtney and Erica to Florida as soon as possible this summer and get them get settled in. I do NOT want to keep traveling and be not able to move until my house sells on its own which, at this pace, will probably be October. I will lose my mind (and very likely my career) if I have to keep doing that. I am so tired of being a weekend daddy and husband that I want to scream.

Thus, as y'all can see, I've got a busy few days ahead of me and a VERY busy summer laid out. This fall, if all goes well, our lives should begin to settle back into a nice groove again.

See y'all Sunday. Mark, when are you going to post some more Lillian pics?

Checking in from the Right Coast

Mark, I was quoting a very funny albeit bizarre skit from last week's SNL called "Monkeys Throwing Poop at Celebrities." It was almost as good as the immortal "cowbell" skit. Weird, inspired and funny as hell.

Robbie, since you're jumping back on the diet bandwagon for yet another lap around that track, I feel compelled to say that if you would just lay off the pizzas and burgers, you wouldn't have a problem. No more pizza for you, Rob. You need things like wheat germ and riboflavin . . . .

Personally, I haven't really been taking all that much care in what I eat. I'm not going completely crazy and eating at Whataburger every meal, mind you, but I'm not exactly eating chicken breast and brown rice, either. Oh well, I am still working out and feeling good from it. As we discussed Rob, I recently changed my workout to a rep-heavy plan. I do 2 sets of 50 repetitions for each exercize. Obviously, I had to drastically reduce my weights to do that, like for instance on the bench press, instead of using 120-lb. dumbells I use 30-pounders. I'm just finishing up my first week doing this and everything on my body hurts. I haven't been this sore since you and I started the BFL 2 years ago and I was so sore then that I could harldy manage to lift my arms for a whole week. I would love to hear Mikey's input as to what I'm doing. What say ye, Rock? Am I helping or hurting myself?

Just the usual's going on with us. We're all dreading the impending move, even though we know Jacksonville is a nice place. As far as home buying goes, we've got a line on a FSBO in a very nice part of town called Eagle Harbor. We've had NO nibbles on our home in SA, though. My next door neighbor had his house on the market for over 200 days before he found a buyer. Of course the asshole never sodded his back yard, letting it become a weed and cedar infested wasteland so, when he did finally sell it, he had to do so for less money than he bought it for. You can imagine what that did to the comps in my neighborhood, too. Bastard.

One fun thing we did was that Erica and went to a concert last weekend at a bar in San Marcos. We went and saw the Burden Brothers again. Those guys always put on a great show. That was our third time to see them, too.

I know, I know. I'm a little old to be becoming a groupie but what the hell, it's fun.
